Opt-in Email

"Opt-in email" lists are people who've agreed to read your email.

36 Frequently Asked Questions

1)  Where does AdMax get the email addresses?
Our partnership with a leading email provider, allows us access to over 15 million addresses.  These addresses originate from literally hundreds of locations on the web.   Each person in these registries has indicated that they will accept our email.  Your list is prepared AFTER you order.

2)  How do people Opt-in to these lists?
Have you ever applied for a credit card on line, or downloaded music, or checked the price of a car, or anything at all?    Hopefully, you've noticed the little "Check This Box if you agree to receive product/service bulletins from us, and our affiliates....."   (It's usually checked already for you.)   Many of these businesses sell these lists of their web site visitors to vendors and marketers like us.  Many new people opt-in to different lists everyday.  (Some without even realizing it.)

3)  Do you offer ad copy\sales writing?  Yes.  For an additional $35, we will review your material (web site, faxes, brochures) and help develop and an email catered your needs.

4)  Why is this program so cheap?   We are not offering double opt-in (2 contacts prior to delivery); our lists are general in nature compared to other list providers; we are not offering tracking; and we do not generate online reports.    The labor expense we save allows us to send more mail for less money.

5)  Can you target lists by interests?
Not really.  These lists are from "General" product/service list categories and selections.

6)  Do you track your mailings so that future mailings from repeat customers don't go to the same recipients?
Yes.     (However, sometimes going back to the same list can pull more response than the first time.  Plus you could go back to the same list with a different Subject Heading, and pull an entirely different group of respondents.)

3)  Does only one address show in the "To:" location and what return address will the recipients see?
Only one address is shown in the "To" location. The return address will be an address assigned by us.

4)  Will readers be able to email me directly by hitting REPLY?
No they cannot reply to you by just hitting "Reply".  The REPLY address is the email address to our list administrators.  Most people who simply "REPLY" are sending a request to remove them from the list.   If we receive a REPLY that was intended for you (which is very rare), we forward that message to you.

5)  Can I use my own email address?
If you wish to include an email address to respond to, we suggest using a separate email than your main, personal email.  Even the best opt-in lists may have a few anti-email advocates complain to your host.

6)  How should I capture leads?
When all else fails, a simple 800 voice mail works great.   Leads call, hear a brief message, and you return the call.

7)  How long after I place my order will my message go out?
Approx. 2-5 business days, depending on availability.

8)  How many responses will I get?
That depends, everybody gets different results depending on how effective their subject heading, the ad, and what product/service you are marketing.  It is impossible for us to guarantee that you will receive a certain amount of web site traffic or sales, we do however guarantee that your ad will be delivered to all participating recipients on it's scheduled delivery date exactly as you designed it.

We seen response as little as 20 per million, and as high as 2000 per million.

9)  Do you guarantee response?  AdMax can not; therefore, DOES NOT GUARANTEE RESPONSE.  We guarantee delivery only.  We'll do the best we can ensure a return on your money.  Read our Tips page.

10)  What if I want to make changes to my ad?
Please review your "proof" ad very carefully, in order to keep our prices low we can only accept one revision per customer.

11)  Can I send a test e-mail of a smaller quantity?
No.  Our busy schedule prevents from offering anything smaller than posted packages.

12)  If I buy 500,000 email addresses, can I sent out in batches, on different days?
Once we begin your job, we must complete it.   However, we can (and advise) to use a FEW Subject Headings.    Using 3-5 strong headings can improve results.  (Unless you have a great pulling ad already.)

13)  Do you provide additional e-mails to compensate for undeliverable addresses?
We make sure that your ad is delivered to the amount of recipients that you paid for.

14)  How many characters can I have in the Subject Line?
Approx. 60-65 characters including spaces.

15)  Can I send an HTML (web page) message and use images and/or banners in my ad?
Yes, but we discourage the use of graphics (pictures).    These usually get deleted immediately. (before opening)   The problem with sending messages in HTML with pictures and images in them is that there are email servers and email programs that reject file attachments or file links that contain graphics, due to the many concerns of virus.

You can expect to lose as much as 15% of your mailing to "bounce backs" when including images in your HTML message. Making a great looking HTML page without images could prove to be very effective for your particular campaign.

We suggest using just plain text, BOLD, COLOR, and perhaps LINKS to build your ad.

16)  Will the prospects be able to "point and click" on a web site or email address within the text of the email message and be sent directly to that web site?
Yes, click able "hyperlinks" can be added to any email message.

17)  Will all of my email messages go out at the same moment?
No.   500,000 email messages will take at least 10 hours to deliver, and in some cases as much as 20.

18)  Is my ad part of a larger message where other clients are also advertised?
No, your message is not shared with any other advertisers.

19)   Will the message that is emailed contain a bunch of email addresses in the "To" Field?
No.   Each individual email message contains one email address, which is the email address of each individual recipient.

20)  Are there restrictions for the length of the message?
No, there are no restrictions for the length of your email.  You should use the following GUIDELINES: - Make the message only as long as necessary to clearly get your point across. In some cases it may only take one paragraph, however, in other cases it could take multiple pages.   Also, avoid repeating the same thing repeatedly

21)  Is there a character limit for the width of the message?   No, however, your HTML-formatted message should be no wider than 535 pixels.

22)  How will I know when my ad has been sent?
We'll send you an e-mail notice letting you know it's been sent as scheduled.

23)  Can I get confirmation that my email has been sent?
Our program generates a Confirmation Message that is sent to us whenever a "batch" of mailings are sent.  Unfortunately we can not simply "forward" this file from within our software.   We can only copy and paste those details into an email.    We can forward this email confirmation to you at your request.

We cannot release a "log record" of the mailing because it contains a list of the email addresses. It is our strict policy not to sell (or give away) our "Opt-In" email addresses.  That is the only way that we can ensure that our subscribers are not getting spammed.

Also, your email address can be added to your emailing, so you will receive a copy of the email message at approximately the same time that the subscribers receive the email message.

Note: Placing your order signifies your reading, understanding and acceptance that this aforementioned email confirmation message is the only documentation available as to the time, date and proof that your email campaign has been initiated or finished.

24)  Do you track click response?
No.  At these prices, no ad tracking is available.

25)  What is "SPAM" or "UCE"?
SPAM or UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email) is the act of sending email to individuals that have not given their approval to be added to a mailing list.  At the present time, SPAM or UCE is an unacceptable form of advertising for various reasons.  "SPAMMING" will often times result in the termination of your Internet web site, Internet Connection, and/or email address by your Internet Service Provider.

26)  Is this spam?
No.  All recipients have agreed to receive our email announcements.

27)  What is "Opt-In" Bulk Email?
"Opt-In" Emailing is the only universally acceptable type of email advertising available on the Internet. This method uses email addresses from people who have "subscribed" to a mailing list devoted to a certain topic or subject.    We DO NOT use SPAM email advertising, which is "unsolicited" email.

28)  Will my web site go down?
Unfortunately, we can NOT GUARANTEE that your web host won't shut you down.   It almost never happens, but it is possible.  As described below, some people do not realize they (or there house mates) have given one of our affiliates (originating list builders/providers), to send them occasional product bulletins, newsletters, .etc....   A single persistent recipient (who has way too much time on his hands) can make complaints to your web host, and have your web site shut down - at least until you are able to explain things and get it back up right away.   (That's usually what happens.)

If you wish to include a web site address, we suggest using a separate URL than your main web site.  Even the best opt-in lists may have a few anti-spammers complain to your host, and you don't want your web site to go down.

29)  Why do some people complain?
It's the nature of the beast.  Have you ever applied for a credit card on line, or downloaded music, or checked the price of a car, or anything at all?    Then you've noticed the little "Uncheck This Box if you do not agree to receive product bulletins...."   Well many of these businesses sell these lists of their web site visitors to vendors and marketers like us.   Many people opt-in to different lists everyday, without even realizing it!  So, if they receive your email and complain, 90% of the time, this is the reason.

30)  How does the recipient know that my ad (mailed by you) is not SPAM?
Each message contains a short reminder of the list that they subscribed to.

31)  Do you provide a REMOVE link in your messages?
Yes, each message has a special "One Click" Unsubscribe link on the bottom of the message. They don't need to send an email with "remove" or "unsubscribe" in the link.

32)  Do you have Terms and Conditions?
Yes, just click here to view our Terms and conditions.

33)  Do you have a Affiliate Program?
No.

34) Are all the recipients English speaking?
Yes.

35) Can I send adult material?
No.

36) How do you accept payment?
Visa, Master Card, Discover, Money Orders, Cashiers Check, and Debit Cards.
